Trouble re-installing QB Premiere 2004
(too old to reply)

My old computer used to have QB Pro 2003 on it. Later, I upgraded
to QB Premiere 2004, and everything was fine. All of these are legitimate
programs, purchased at the local retailer.

Then the computer died and I replaced it.

To reinstall QB, I began by installing the QB Pro 2003. That went
fine. My old registration number activated. Then I installed
QB Premiere 2004 just like I did on the old computer, but it won't
take the registration number I had from the old computer.

I looked in the registry where the registration details are kept,
somewhere under HKLM/Software/Intuit, and the install code
matches the one on the CD case except for one digit.

Thinking I might have mistyped it, I uninstalled QB Premiere 2004
and reinstalled it, taking great care that I entered the key code from
the CD case properly. But the same thing happened -- the registration
code didn't work and the registry key has the same one digit off.

Finally, I tried again by uninstalling QB Premiere 2004, and then
manually deleted the HKLM/Software/Intuit key in its entirety.
I also manually deleted the following folders in their entirety:

\program files\intuit
\program files\common files\intuit
\windows\intuit
\documents and settings\all users\application data\intuit

Then I reinstalled QB Premiere 2004, again taking great care
to enter the key code off the CD case exactly, but the registration
key still fails and the registry key shows the same one digit off.

Can anyone help me get my QB Premiere 2004 back? I tried
calling Intuit, but they couldn't help me.

Thanks.

Did Intuit hang up on you or did the person on the other end give you a
reason for not being able to help?
